BY SEA:

The main port for connections to Lipari (Aeolian Islands) both in the winter and in the summer, is that of Milazzo , from which ferries and hydrofoils leave during all the day. The major companies for this kind in the ferry service are SIREMAR and USTICA lines, hydrofoils, while the companies involved in the ferry service are SIREMAR and NGI. (for board cars too).

Some alternatives to the port of Milazzo:

The port of Naples is connected to Aeolian Island during the winter only qith a ferry (SIREMAR) while during the summer with daily journey. Moreover during the summer, there are three hydrofoils that connect quickly (five hours and thirty approx) Naples to Lipari.

The port of Palermo during the summer, is served daily by USTICA lines hydrofoils.

The port of Messina and Reggio di Calabria are served by only daily journey during the winter and several daily journeys in the summer. Most of the hourneys coincide with the arrivals of the Flights at th Airport of Reggio Calabria.

BY TRAIN

Milazzo is the most convenient station. Every half an hour fthere is a shuttle for the port.
At Messina, the station is far 1 km from the port. If you do not arrive in time to take the hydrofoil, you should go to Milazzo in bus( www.giuntabus.it); the bus stop at Milazzo is in front of the port.
